Navratri & Dussehra Celebrations...

Navratri is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India. It is associated to the prominent battle that took place between Durga and demon Mahishasura and celebrates the victory of god over Evil.

Each day is associated to the incarnation of the Goddess.

It started on 17th Oct and continues for 9 days until 25th oct, and toady also happens to be DUSSEHRA.

Dussehra is also known as Vijaydashami and marks the end of navratri and durga puja.

The women who fast for 9 days are required to host at least 9 girls by washing their feet, putting kumkum, and serving - halwa, chana, coconut, poori along with a fruit and some money or gifts if they wish to .

The little girls are treated as small godess's on this day and prayed with all respect. They are today called Kanchak and I was happy to host them along with my little girl Nia.

I wore a simple cotton kurta and paired it with white leggings and a pink dupatta and wore a ruby studded necklace and earrings with it. It is classic and yet elegant and totally my style.
